It’s never late for you to make a best friend.
A mother named Tracey Martorana started taking her then 3-month-old baby boy Lucas to get swimming lessons and she wasn’t quite sure what to expect. The baby boy was born during the pandemic, which means he hadn’t been given the chance to meet a lot of people.
However, soon enough, the mother could tell that Lucas loved his swimming lessons! The boy got along great with the people of Saf-T-Swim in New York, but there was one instructor in particular who he quickly formed a deep connection with: Carlson Rogers.
Tracey said: “Being a pandemic baby, our circle is really small,”
“He knows the grandparents, immediate family and then there’s Carlson. Carlson is a part of our crew.”
Now 10-month-old Lucas is exclusively taking private lessons with Carlson Rogers – his new best friend. This adorable duo just clicks, in part because Carlson doesn’t have a problem going with the flow. If Lucas starts to cry, Carlson will take a step back and letting the fussy baby have some space. But most their time together is spent with lots of laughing, splashing, and, of course, swimming!
Since Carlson and her baby’s relationship is so precious, Tracey decided to share a couple of moments between this duo online, both of which went viral! It can be seen from one of the videos, baby Lucas got a little too sleepy to keep swimming. He rests his head on Carlson’s shoulder who immediately snuggles him right back.

She said: “I love watching the relationship,”
“Carlson is a big strapping man and Lucas loves to hug him and hold onto him.”
In another video, it can be seen that Carlson and baby Lucas are recreating an iconic scene from Disney’s animated “The Lion King.” This moment is made all the better thanks to Tracey who added in the famous song, “Circle of Life,” that plays during the scene.
“The comment section is hysterical. Everyone loves Carlson,”, said Tracey. “I think it was just something important for people to see. Love knows no bounds.”
We absolutely love these two, and we hope to see more adorable moments from their friendship as Lucas gets older!
