At times life presents challenges that can make us overwhelmed, and Evie found herself in one such moment. After her misc arriage, the young woman couldn’t bear to see her stil lborn baby’s clothes, so she asked her husband to dispose of them. What happened next was unexpected, prompting Evie to take a surprising action. Although her journey ultimately concludes on a positive note, even a year later, Evie remembers the events vividly and has shared her story with us.
Evie sent us a letter to open up about what happened
I had misca rried 2 weeks before my due date. I urged my husband to get rid of all the baby clothes because seeing them was causing me pain.
A month later, I saw my sister-in-law’s newborn wearing my unborn child’s onesie.
My husband said, «At least I wanted my niece to have it.» I stayed silent and didn’t react. Later, when everyone was in the living room, I quietly entered the baby’s room, removed her onesie, and took all the clothes that belonged to my child from the closet. Then I wrapped her carefully with a blanket and left the room.
The next day, my mother-in-law called my husband to complain. She said I was jealous and had no right to take the baby’s clothes. My husband said that what I did was “unforgivable”.
Now a year has passed since this incident, and our relationship has improved. I became a mom a few months ago, and now I am glad my husband hadn’t thrown the clothes away, as my newborn baby girl is now wearing them.
However, I still can’t forget how badly I was treated for just trying to honor my unborn baby’s memory. Was I wrong?
Yours, Evie
