Chef Gordon Ramsay was engaged in a terrifying bike inc:ident that left him badly inju:red.
Over Father’s Day weekend, the well-known chef and television host turned to social media to remind his fans of the significance of wearing a helmet following his mishap. The Hell’s Kitchen chef went on to explain the harrowing incident that required medical attention, saying “he was lucky to be there.”
“With #FathersDay tomorrow, I have a very important message for all the fathers out there…”Wear a helmet!” Ramsay captioned the image, which included his massive bruise.
“This week I had a really bad incident while riding my bike in Connecticut. I’m doing ok and did not break any bones or suffer any major injur:ies but I am a bit bruised up looking like a purple potato,” he shared.
“I’m thankful for all the doctors, nurses and staff at Lawerence + Memorial Hospital in New London who looked after me and checked me out, but most thankful for my helmet that saved my life. Have a great Father’s Day and be safe Gx.”
In the video, Ramsay stated, “Now, from those incredible surgeons, doctors, and nurses in the hospital who looked after me this week — they were amazing.” But, honestly, you need to wear a helmet. I don’t mind how short the voyage is. I don’t care how much these helmets cost; they’re necessary. Even on a short journey, the youngsters must wear a helmet.
“Now, I’m lucky to be standing here. I’m in pain. It’s been a brutal week. And I’m, sort of, getting through it.”
His fans quickly left remarks wishing him well.
“I assumed it was a minor collision, but that bruise says differently! “I’m glad you’re doing okay,” one individual commented. “I’m delighted we didn’t lose this legend, and thank you for raising awareness, Gordan. We need more individuals to promote health and safety. “I’m proud of you,” another commented.
