Donald Trump appears to awkwardly snub Robert F. Kennedy Jr’s wife after she tried to shake his hand

Cheryl Hines, actress and wife of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., seemed visibly uncomfortable after an awkward encounter with former President Donald Trump at a UFC match in Miami.

During the event, Hines extended her hand to greet Trump, but he appeared to ignore her gesture and walked past without acknowledgment. Just moments earlier, Trump had warmly embraced and shaken hands with her husband, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., leaving Hines standing with her hand outstretched.

After being left hanging, Hines frowned, visibly reacting to the snub, and glanced at her husband, who appeared to smile off the awkward moment.

The incident took place at UFC 314 at Miami’s Kasya Center, where Trump was attending with three of his grandchildren—Kai, Donald J. Trump III, and Spencer. Billionaire Elon Musk was also seated nearby.

Footage of the handshake snub quickly circulated online, prompting social media users to pair it with the Curb Your Enthusiasm theme music, drawing comparisons between the moment and scenes from the comedy show in which Hines stars.

“Cheryl Hines getting passed over by Trump needs the Curb theme,” one user quipped. Another added, “Trump completely ignoring RFK’s wife is pure Curb-level comedy.”

Others chimed in with jokes and memes, referencing Hines’ on-screen husband Larry David and imagining his reaction if the situation had played out on the show. One person joked, “Even her TV husband Larry would’ve stuck up for her.”

Another wrote humorously, “What if Trump’s second term is just one long, unaired season of Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Larry’s behind it all over a coffee shop feud?”

Despite the social media mockery, many at the event gave Trump a warm welcome.

He received a standing ovation, with supporters waving red MAGA hats, and chants of “U-S-A” filling the arena.

Later, aboard Air Force One, Trump commented on the reception, saying it was a sign of approval: “If we weren’t doing a good job, we wouldn’t get that kind of response.”

Trump was also seen enjoying himself during the match, which saw Alexander Volkanovski reclaim his featherweight title, and was caught on camera dancing to “YMCA,” a regular feature in his campaign rallies.
