Eamonn Holmes hits out at Meghan Markle after new Lilibet video

Eamonn Holmes has criticized Meghan Markle following her release of a rare video that included the voices of her children, Archie and Lilibet.

Speaking on GB News, Holmes cautioned viewers not to expect regular insights into the Sussex children’s lives, implying that such moments will remain few and far between.

The video, shared on Meghan’s Instagram Stories, offered a brief look into the family’s life in California. It showed Meghan engaging in a sweet jam-making session with five-year-old Archie and three-year-old Lilibet.

While the clip gave royal fans a rare moment with the young siblings, the children’s faces were kept out of view, reflecting Harry and Meghan’s ongoing commitment to their privacy since stepping back from royal duties.

Holmes commented dismissively on the video, saying, “It’s not much of a voice. It’s a little voice. And it’s got an accent.” He added, “Don’t get used to it, because I think they’ll be very restrictive with how much they let us see or hear of the children.”

In the clip, Archie can be heard exclaiming, “Watch this!” while later, Meghan is seen preparing jam with Lilibet and asking, “What do we think, Lili?” to which the toddler replies, “I think it’s beautiful.” Meghan also shared a few still images of Archie and Lilibet picking roses, revealing their signature red hair. She chose to disable comments on the posts, likely to avoid both praise and criticism.

Vanity Fair royal expert Katie Nicholl also responded to the video, noting that both children now have American accents.

“It’s sweet to hear her speak,” Nicholl remarked, referencing Lilibet’s brief appearance. She acknowledged that while their titles of prince and princess make their American accents notable, it’s unsurprising given their upbringing in the U.S.

Nicholl further emphasized that Harry and Meghan remain highly protective of their children’s privacy. “We don’t see Lilibet’s face — just her beautiful red hair. This is the first time we’ve ever heard her speak,” she noted.

She added that the couple’s guarded approach stems from their broader concerns about safety and online exposure. “Harry has expressed that he doesn’t feel safe returning to the UK without police security, fearing for his family’s well-being,” she explained.

“Their efforts to shield their children, both offline and online, align with their advocacy for digital safety and responsible parenting in the public eye.”
