Her Netflix series and business podcast, Meghan Markle is reportedly looking to venture into the world of fashion following the successful launch of her As Ever lifestyle brand.
However, users are unpredictable that the Duchess of Sussex will be able to face off against big labels and exclusive brands.
Meghan’s reported plans for a reigning business empire happens after items from the initial As Ever launch promptly sold out in April. Lines of cookies, teas, jams and more were out of stock in less than 45 minutes, and while fans have since been waiting for the products to become available again, Meghan shared a restock will finally occur on June 20.
With cerebration of a potential clothing company, an insider commented: “Meghan knows she’s diving into one of the most ruthless industries in the world, but she’s not going to let fear stop her.”
Speaking to Radar Online, the source added: “If anything, she’s excited by the idea of shaking things up and taking on the mean girls and gatekeepers.
“She’s even joked that she wants to become the next Anna Wintour or Victoria Beckham.”
However, the insider recommended that this is a desperate cashflow scheme after Meghan and Prince Harry’s strained relationship with the royal Family could watch the Duke cut out of King Charles’ will.
They added: “Meghan is deluding herself if she thinks she can waltz into the fashion world and become this overnight sensation.
“The people at the top of that food chain won’t take kindly to some upstart coming in and trying to reinvent the wheel, let alone someone as hated and arrogant as Meghan.”
The insider also commented that Meghan is made of sterner stuff and apparently “doesn’t care” who rolls their eyes or says she can’t do it, remarking: “She’s never let that stop her before, so why start now?”
Meghan recently shared about taking on the viral Baby Mama challenge, which she filmed and danced to while in labour with their daughter, Princess Lilibet.
The Duchess was met with a wave of backlash and criticism after sharing the clip on Instagram, in celebration of the youngster’s fourth birthday.
Meghan said that she can finally “share her authentic life” on “her own terms”.
She continued: “It’s also a really great reminder that with all the noise or whatever people do, there’s still a whole life, a real, authentic, fun life that’s happening behind the scenes.
“I’m just grateful that now, being back on social as well, I have a place where I can share it on my own terms.”
