Kate Middleton knocked off top spot as the UK’s favourite royal

The current ‘royal league table’ was revealed by a new poll, and Kate Middleton has lost her top rank as British voters choose a different senior royal.

YouGov’s most recent survey on the royal family’s popularity has been released, and the intriguing findings provide insight into how Britain views its monarchy. These include the public’s current opinions on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, whether the royals are good “value for money,” and whether or not Brits think that the royal family should remain in place.

A ‘royal league table’ is also included in the report, which assigns favorability scores to each important family member and ranks them according to popular perceptions, both favorable and negative.

Kate Middleton, who topped the results of a similar poll earlier this year, has been a steady high achiever on the league table.

Given that the Princess of Wales is credited with causing the “Kate Effect,” which sees clothes she’s seen wearing achieve previously unheard-of levels of popularity and frequently sell out quickly as people scramble to get a piece of the royal’s personal closet, it wasn’t a huge surprise.

However, she appears to have been overtaken by another well-liked senior royal, who has succeeded in taking her place at the top.

With 74 percent of British people having a favorable opinion of the future king, it is none other than hubby Prince William who has topped the YouGov chart.

However, Kate was not far behind, finishing with 71 percent to win the silver medal.

‘Do you think Britain should continue to retain a monarchy in the future, or should it be replaced with an elected head of state?’ asked people about their opinions of the royal family in general.

Two-thirds of respondents stated that they wanted the UK to maintain its monarchy, according to YouGov. Twelve percent indicated they were unsure, twenty-three percent preferred an elected head of state to replace the monarchy, and sixty-five percent supported the monarchy.

Prince Andrew sits at the bottom of the royal league table. He entered with only 5% of the British public’s favor after being accused in a shocking new book of knowing convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein for ten years longer than he acknowledged.

Prince Andrew has strongly rejected any role in the sex trafficking of Epstein.
