She adopts a boy that nobody wants – 28 years later she finds out the truth he was hiding
The McIntosh family has taken in 125 children over the years, but a unique young man named Jordan has forever won their hearts.
Ingeborg McIntosh went through a lot to adopt her son Jordan.
Jordan was just a newborn baby when she took him in as her foster child. The moment Ingeborg McIntosh held Jordan in her arms for the first time, she described it as “love at first sight.”
And for the next four years, Ingeborg struggled to convince his birth mother to let her adopt him. Because his birth mother didn’t want him adopted, she wanted her son to be raised by black parents. So when no one else showed any interest in Jordan, when the boy was 4 years old, Ingeborg and her family adopted him.
But Two decades , the relationship took a dramatic turn.
20 years later, Ingeborg received heartbreaking news. She had polycystic kidney disease and needed a kidney transplant.
Jordan decided he could not stand by and watch his mother suffer. He decided to act, without his mother even knowing of his plans. She made an appointment to see if he was up for a transplant. And he was!
“I feel like this was my calling in life, I guess,” Jordan says. “Hopefully, I can do more for her as I get older, but for the moment, it’s the least I could do.”
Ingeborg insisted that Jordan not proceed with his plans, but make up his mind. He was determined to save her life.
As Jordan talks about his love for his mother, he can’t hide his tears.
“Everything she’s done for me since I was a kid, I just wanted to give it back to her, and show her how much I appreciate her,” he said.
