Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has stated that he intends to resign his US citizenship following the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.
During his band’s performance at the London Stadium on Friday, Armstrong, the punk rock band’s vocalist since 1987, announced that he would be spending more time on the other side of the Atlantic.
Armstrong added. “Oh, I’m not kidding. You’re going to get a lot of me in the coming days.”
Armstrong proceeded to criticize the United States at his band’s performance in Huddersfield, England, the next day.
Olivia Rodrigo, a pop musician, mentioned the conservative justices by name during her performance at the Glastonbury music festival in the United Kingdom this weekend.
“This song goes out to the justices: Samuel Alito, Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch, Amy Coney Barrett, Brett Kavanaugh. We hate you!,” the “Driver’s License” singer exclaimed during a festival performance.
