Recently, President Donald Trump has been all over the news after claiming that he’s going to give almost every American citizen $2,000, yet what if we said to you that it could actually be more?
Exciting news, right?
First off – is president Donald Trump really going to give most Americans $2,000
The answer to that question – as with nearly all Trump-related questions – is ‘it depends who you ask’.
Trump states that he’ll give nearly everyone in the USA $2,000 as a result of his tariffs, with people on lower to moderate wages getting the payout.
Skeptics think that it could actually be a bad thing, that it will simply never happen, or that citizens have already met the cost through the price rises relating to those tariffs.
Yet Trump and his allies remain adamant that they’ll be giving out some kind of dividend, and that most Americans will be eligible.
One thing that still isn’t completely clear is the amount, and that’s what makes things interesting.

Could the dividend check be more than $2,000?
In short, that $2,000 figure is one that everyone has latched onto after Trump first spoke on the matter.
In fact , during a meeting on Wednesday at the US-Saudi Arabia Investment Forum, Trump said that his government is working towards delivering checks of “at least $2,000”.
There you have it – it could actually be more.
Again, whether you believe that depends on what side of the fence you sit on, but those are the words from president Trump himself.
“We’re going to be doing a dividend to the people — low and middle income, moderate income people — of at least $2,000.”, he said.
The actual details of the plan are somewhat murky.
To start with, the checks would need an act of Congress to be passed to come into reality, meaning that an amount would have to be agreed between both the House and Senate.
According to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, the money would be for working families and would have an income limit, which may also affect the overall amount.
