One of our readers sent our editorial a letter to open up about her story. The happiest day of her life turned into a nightmare. She’d meticulously planned every detail, dreamt of this moment for years, and surrounded herself with the people she cared about most — her 3 best friends, or so she thought. However, what she overheard moments before walking down the aisle shattered everything.
Here’s what she shared:
“I have 3 best friends, and I wanted them to be my bridesmaids. They helped me pick out a wedding dress and when we found the perfect one, they said it looked fantastic on me.
On my wedding day, I had to use the restroom and accidentally heard one of my bridesmaids say,
“The dress is awful, she has no sense of style, and have you seen her body?”
The other one added, “Her face isn’t any better. Why did he even marry her?”
I opened the door angrily, and they shut up and stared at me. I said, “Get out of my wedding, I don’t want to see you ever again.”
My family always thought of my “friends” as very “nice girls,” so they didn’t believe me. They say it’s just my wedding nerves.
