King Charles is seemingly “very sad” about his relationship with his estranged grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
However, Prince Harry’s latest outburst on the BBC earlier this month confirmed a “complete breakdown of trust”, according to sources.
The Duke of Sussex attracted attention nearly two weeks ago after he gave a rare interview to the broadcaster following his legal defeat of a High Court appeal regarding his downgraded security in the UK.
Prince Harry made various claims in the interview and described his court defeat as a “good old-fashioned establishment stitch-up” and criticize the Royal Household for influencing the decision to reduce his security.
Elsewhere, he said the King “won’t speak to me because of this security stuff”, but added that he did not want to combat any more and did “not know how much longer my father has”
Now sources seemingly close to the King said that the monarch is “sad” he doesn’t get to spend time with his two grandchildren across the pond, but that the conflict with Harry has made one thing clear – that there is no trust between the two camps.
Insiders shared Grazia magazine: “The relationship had been severely compromised before this court case.
“The Oprah interview in which Harry and Meghan threw the family under the bus and the many things that Harry said in Spare have been incredibly damaging.
“Very simply, Harry has behaved in such a way that his father cannot trust that what is said between them will remain private. There has been a complete breakdown of trust.”
