People are just realising why Melania Trump’s inauguration outfit looks so familiar

People are only just recongnizing why Melania Trump’s inauguration outfit looks so familiar.

In earlier this afternoon (20 January), the incoming First Lady of the United States appeared alongside Donald Trump and their son, Barron, at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Lafayette Square, Washington D.C.

Melania wore a black and white ensemble – but it was her statement hat which really attracted the attention of people online.

One X user who wasn’t a fan of the hat commented her outfit: “I don’t like the hat. You don’t wear a hat in a church. I’m old fashioned.”

“That hat!” exclaimed a second, while a third fan loved it: “Love Melania’s hat! Why can’t we all wear hats & gloves again? So stylish.”

Another flushed: “Living for Melania’s hat moment.”

The hat has caused an even bigger concern online, which compared it to none other than Beyoncé’s iconic ‘Formation’ outfit.

The hit track appeared on the singer’s 2016 Lemonade album with the accompanying music video showing Bey rocking a similar wide-brim black hat which also covered a significant amount of her face.

“Ok ladies now let’s get in formation,” chirped a second quoting one of the song’s lyrics, while a third likewise quipped: “YALL HATERS CORNY WITH THAT ILLUMINATI MESS.”

A fourth echoed: “Not Melania gettin into formation.”

Before attending the Donald Trump’s inauguration, Melania told Fox: “I feel I was always me the first time as well, I just feel that people didn’t accept me maybe.

“Maybe some people, they see me as just a wife of the president, but I’m standing on my own two feet, independent. I have my own thoughts.”

She noted: “I have my own yes and no. I don’t always agree with what my husband is saying or doing. And that’s OK.”
