For many years, the British Royal family and their several names have caused confusion.
For starters, some people are completely sh0cked that Prince Harry’s real name is Henry rather than Harry at all.
In addition, Meghan, his wife, has stated how “important” it is to her to use the surname “Sussex” instead of her given name, “Markle,” because she likes sharing it with her husband and kids.
It turns out that Queen Elizabeth II’s passing certificate, which was issued after her passing on September 8, 2022, was the only source of information on her real name and official position.
When her passing certificate was published to the world, it shared that the district of her passing was as Aberdeenshire, while the cause was ‘old age’.
Also in the paperwork was something you don’t see often – her full name. But like anyone else, of course she did, and it was listed as Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor.
One social media user commented: “Oh wow, I always thought officially the Queen didn’t have a last name. So weird to see it on a document like this.”
While a second person over on Reddit added: “That finally solves it her majesty’s last name was Windsor.”
And a third said: “I legit didn’t know she had a last name lol.”
But officially, her ‘occupation’ was listed in the document as: ‘Her Majesty the Queen’.
One Twitter user wrote: “It’s really weird actually reading the Queen’s death certificate. It’s so stark and informative only. Like NAME: Elizabeth, OCCUPATION: Queen…just strange.”
This week, Monday 8 September, noted the third anniversary of the Queen’s passing, with members of the royal family paying tribute in different ways.
Prince Harry, who was back in the UK for a charity event, travelled to her tomb in the King George VI Memorial Chapel within Windsor Castle’s St George’s Chapel and laid down a wreath and flowers as he paid his respects.
William told some of the guests: “It’s three years since my grandmother died, she was a big part of the WI, she used to talk about it a lot. This is the first time I’ve been, and experienced the WI, so this is a huge honour for me.”
They talked about his grandmother’s love of horses and horse breeding after he asked the members about their recollections of the late Queen and subsequently said, “It’s hard to believe it’s been three years. Time flies.”
