Prince Harry ‘offered new Netflix series’ on Princess Diana 30 years after de.ath

Prince Harry May Create Documentary Honoring Princess Diana’s Legacy

A senior Hollywood insider has revealed that Prince Harry may be allowed to produce a documentary marking the 30th anniversary of his mother, Princess Diana’s passing.

The proposed two or three-part series is expected to be released in 2027, commemorating three decades since Diana tragically lost her life in a car crash in Paris in August 1997. The project would be part of a renewed long-term deal between Netflix and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

“This would be a solo project for Harry, where he would take on the role of co-executive producer, as well as hosting and narrating the series,” a Los Angeles-based source disclosed.

“Given his personal connection, he is in a unique position not only to share insights into the woman he knew as his mother but also to explore her lasting influence as a cultural and social icon, still admired by many.”

The source further explained that the documentary would be handled with “passion and sensitivity,” providing fresh perspectives on Diana’s life and enduring legacy.

Millions still remember the poignant image of a 12-year-old Harry walking behind his mother’s coffin alongside his 15-year-old brother, Prince William, during her funeral procession.

While no official agreement has been made, discussions surrounding the project are reportedly positive. “Harry may even see this as an opportunity to rebuild bridges with William and other family members,” the source added.

Netflix’s Future with Harry and Meghan

The Sussexes’ current £77.2 million deal with Netflix, which was signed in 2020, is set to conclude this year. However, the streaming giant is expected to extend a new contract under a more results-driven model rather than a large upfront payment.

Netflix has already partnered with Meghan’s lifestyle brand, As Ever, featuring its merchandise on its viewer website, Tudum. Despite receiving mixed reviews, her series With Love, Meghan managed to break into Netflix’s top 10 rankings, reaching number six in both the UK and the US.

To further strengthen their collaboration, Harry and Meghan are expected to engage with fans at two upcoming Netflix megastores in the US, promoting merchandise sales.

Netflix, which boasts over 300 million subscribers, plans to invest nearly £14 billion in content this year. Co-CEO Ted Sarandos, who has referred to Harry and Meghan as “the jewels in our crown,” recently defended Meghan’s show, confirming Netflix’s passive investment in her company.

Representatives for both Netflix and Prince Harry have yet to comment on the potential documentary project.
