Trooping the Colour is only a few days away, and the King, Queen Camilla, and other senior royals are almost certainly preparing for it.
Set to take place on June 14, the event is one of the highlights of the royal calendar and is held every year to commemorate the monarch’s formal birthday, despite the fact that the King’s actual birthday falls in November.
At the occasion, attendees may expect to see over 1,600 parading soldiers, 400 musicians, and more than 200 horses. Members of the Royal Family attend the event, with some on horseback, such as Princess Anne, and others in horse-drawn vehicles.
Following the procession, senior royals congregate on the famed Buckingham Palace balcony to watch the Red Arrows fly overhead, while spectators line The Mall to catch a view of the historic event.
While the King, 76, will be at the center of the festivities, several other senior royals are anticipated to attend.
This includes Queen Camilla (77), Princess Anne (74), and Prince Edward (61).
Other royals expected to attend include Duchess Sophie, 60, and the King’s eldest son Prince William, 42, who will most likely be joined by his wife Princess Kate, 43, and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
However, the King’s youngest son, Prince Harry, 40, who is said to be on bad terms with him right now, is unlikely to go, having left the royal family five years ago and relocated to Montecito, California. But should he go? Vote below or here.
As was the case last year, the King will ride in a carriage with Queen Camilla for his ceremonial birthday parade rather than on horseback.
The parade, on the other hand, will feature Princess Anne, Prince Edward, and Prince William on horseback.
All senior royals attending the occasion are expected to join King Charles on the balcony following the parade.
