The Damage Sleeping With Wet Hair Does To Your Body !
Sometimes you are so exhausted that you don’t even want to take a shower before you go to bed…and you’ve already been to the gym. Sometimes you have that last ounce of strength to shower, but not enough to do the whole check-up procedure on your face, hair and body afterwards.
Going to bed right after you’ve showered, without drying your hair can be very detrimental to your overall health. And here’s why…
1. Cause of headaches
Severe headaches in the morning is what is likely to happen to you from going to bed with wet hair. As the body warms up during sleep, the moisture on your head will give you a headache due to the large temperature difference in your body and head.
2. Sticky hair
Your hair will be a mess the next day, that’s for sure. Especially people with long hair should avoid sleeping with wet hair, because this causes hair damage and also breaks the inevitable hair stickiness.
3. Itchiness
Due to the extra moisture left on your head and sculpture, different types of itching and even redness can occur the next day.
Muscle pain – the sudden change in temperatures can also cause muscle pain and also, severe cramps can even wake you up in the middle of the night. There are even cases of paralysis due to different temperatures of the body parts and eventual death!
4. Infections
All this moisture is ideal for developing extra bacteria on your pillow, which already contains moisture from your sweat and face.
5. Dandruff
A damp scalp will interfere with the function of the sebaceous glands that are found in the scalp. This can result in either more oil being produced or the natural oil production of the scalp being reduced, thus causing dandruff to develop by disrupting the natural pH balance of the skin on the scalp.
Lots of reasons to keep your pillow and sleeping place dry, right? And the next time you feel really sleepy, you better decide to wash your hair the next day. This decision is better for your overall health and also for your good looks the next morning!
