A farmer decided to upgrade his farm with a brand-new, high-tech automatic milking machine.
One afternoon, with his wife out of town, curiosity got the better of him.
“Hmm… I wonder if this thing really works,” he thought.
So, in a moment of questionable judgment, he decided to test the machine himself.
To his surprise, the machine worked perfectly.
In fact, it worked a little too well.
Then he tried to stop it.
Nothing.
He pulled.
He twisted.
He pushed every button he could find.
Still nothing.
The machine remained firmly attached.
Panicking, he grabbed his phone and called Customer Service.
“Hello! Please help! The milking machine won’t release from… um… my cow’s udder!”
The customer-service representative calmly replied,
“Oh, don’t worry, sir. It’s completely automatic.”
The farmer breathed a sigh of relief.
“Thank goodness! So how do I turn it off?”
“You don’t,” the representative said.
“It will release automatically once it collects two gallons of milk.”
The farmer went completely silent.
Then he whispered…
“Two gallons?! I don’t even own a cow!”
