A U.S. Marine Colonel stood before his staff, waiting for the morning coffee machine to finish brewing. Looking to kill a few minutes before the official briefing, he decided to pose a highly unusual question to the room.
“My wife was a bit frisky last night, and I barely got a wink of sound sleep,” the Colonel chuckled. “It got me thinking… exactly how much of sex is ‘work,’ and how much of it is ‘pleasure’?”
The officers immediately began debating.
A Major chimed in first. “Sir, I’d say it’s 75% work and 25% pleasure.”
A Captain disagreed. “No, Sir, it’s a strict 50-50 split.”
A young Lieutenant grinned. “I’d argue it’s 75% pleasure and 25% work, depending entirely on how much I’ve had to drink.”
With no clear consensus in sight, the Colonel turned his attention to a low-ranking Private First Class (PFC) who was quietly standing in the corner monitoring the coffee pot. “What about you, son? What’s your expert opinion?”
Without a single moment’s hesitation, the young PFC snapped to attention. “Sir, it has to be 100% pleasure.”
The Colonel raised an eyebrow, thoroughly amused. “Oh yeah? And why are you so certain?”
The PFC looked him dead in the eye and replied, “Well, Sir, because if there was even a single ounce of work involved, you officers would have me doing it for you.”
