To solve this problem, follow the correct order of operations such as PEMDAS/PEDMAS or BOMDAS/BODMAS.

According to PEMDAS/PEDMAS (or alternatives such as BOMDAS/BODMAS), what is inside parentheses or brackets has to be solved first. In this case, we have to divide eight by four first.
Once that’s done, you move on to exponents, but since there are none, you advance to multiplication and division.
These two have the SAME priority, therefore you start with the one on the left side of the equation before making your way to the right side.
In this case, you have to divide 24 by 4 rather than multiply 4 by 2 because the division symbol is to the left of multiplication.
